The EMF-C- is one of the most common, if not the most common, kind of EMF found in PSA cars, it is a matrix LCD screen with LED backlight, the most common color found is orange.
It is used in VAN+CAN as a mid- to high-end display, AEE2004 as the mid-end display, and in AEE2010 as the low-end display.
Two connectors are used: 6-pins and 12-pins. Both work exactly the same (only +BAT, GND, CAN-H and CAN-L are connected), but the 12-pins version have additional pins for a wired remote control, as far as it is known, this feature never was implemented in any actual car.
These communicate via CAN, can be configured, but not upgraded, the firmware is in an OTP ROM. It is theorically impossible to have a custom firmware on an EMF, but a russian car owner apparently managed to make his own by contacting and ordering a whole batch of MCUs with his custom (translated) firmware from the factory that makes these MCUs for the original OEM.
